Weatherproofing a connection with the PAW weatherproofing kit

The PAW weatherproofing kit contains a length of self amalgamating rubber tape which allows a reliable weatherproofing of an antenna to cable or cable to cable connection. The tape will bond to itself through an automatic volcanizing action.

Make sure surfaces of connector and cables are free of any dirt or grease
Remove protective plastic coating from one side of tape
Starting at the downward side of the cable, spiral tape tightly upward, terminating tape directly to cable jacket or metal antenna connector beyond any shrink tubing on the cable.
After applying self amalgamating tape, apply regular electrical tape in same fashion, spiraling from bottom to top.
Apply pressure to the entire seal to initiate selfbonding of the tape

Spiralling the tape from bottom to top forms overlapping tape edges that act like house shingles to shed the water rather than collecting it.
